Responsible in the operation and maintenance of the equipment associated with the dialysis treatment. function in multiple roles, from equipment repair and maintenance; to water treatment monitoring, to dialyzer reprocessing.
Prepares dialyzer according to formula. Prepares, rinse, disinfects dialysis machines prior to treatment. Calibrates reprocessing machines at the start of the day prior to use. Collects all used dialyzers in the dialysis area in accordance with techniques in prevention and control of spillage and contamination. Performs reprocessing dialyzers for acceptability. Labels all used dialyzers properly. Records dialyzer re-use number in HD flow sheet.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of hemodialysis procedures, reprocessing and re-use of dialyzer.
- Completion of a hemodialysis technician training program or certification.
- With at least 1 to 2 years working experience in renal dialysis unit/clinic.
- Basic computer skills for documentations and record purposes
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
- Understanding of infection and safety protocols.
