DBA Engineer
JOB SUMMARY:
Be part of a fast moving, lean product development Organization, supporting the Lone Wolf family of Applications. Deliver and maintain, reliable, highly available database management systems to the Lone Wolf application portfolio. Work with the IT, Development, and Product teams to deliver high performing applications with best of class end user experiences.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Member of DBA team tasked to deliver and maintain database management systems
- Member of DBA team focused on improving performance and reliability
- Maintain database management systems in a multi-cloud and multi-DC environment
- Manage and maintain database deployment processes.
- Enhance tools and processes that will drive efficiency
Skills & Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4+ years of building and maintaining highly available database management systems
- 3+ years experience with cloud platform databases ( Azure SQL, AWS RDS PostgreSQL, AWS RDS MySQL, MongoDB, etc.)
- 3+ years experience managing SQL Server, SQL Always-On, mirroring, clustering and data replication.
- 2+ years experience with SSRS, SSIS packages, scripting (e.g. Powershell, Azure CLI,Bash, python, etc..) and automating processes
- In-depth understanding of Database security practices
- Experience working for a high growth SaaS company
- Agile, lean, or similar development methodologies/experience
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Ability to use a wide variety of tools to manage database systems (Foglight, Spotlight, Rubrik Backups, SSMS, Azure Data Studio, SCCM, SCOM, etc.)
- Experience with systems and IT operations
- Comfort with frequent, incremental DB testing and deployment
- Strong grasp of automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, etc.)
- Understanding of ITIL Process and Service Management tools like Jira, Confluence
- Data management skills
- A strong focus on business outcomes
- Comfort with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders
- Coding or scripting to support database systems
- Process re-engineering
- Communicating and collaborating with others
- Self-motivated and able to work in a small team with minimal supervision
- Desire to deliver the best solutions for the need
- Ownership of any output delivered
- Ability to use data to drive decisions
