Job Description
Database Management & Optimization:
- Manage and maintain MongoDB and SQL databases for mission-critical banking applications.
- Optimize database performance to meet the demands of high transaction volumes.
Data Security & Compliance
- Implement robust database security protocols to protect sensitive financial data.
- Ensure compliance with banking regulations and data protection standards.
Backup & Recovery
- Develop and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies for uninterrupted operations.
- Conduct regular failover testing to ensure system reliability.
Database Design & Support
- Collaborate with software developers and business analysts to design efficient database schemas.
- Provide ongoing support for database-related issues and enhancements.
Performance Monitoring
- Proactively monitor database performance and resolve bottlenecks to ensure optimal system uptime.
- Use advanced tools and techniques for performance tuning and capacity planning.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, policies, and procedures.
- Prepare regular reports on database health, performance metrics, and risk assessments.
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing databases in a high-availability environment.
- Expertise in MongoDB database administration, including replica sets and sharding.
- Strong proficiency in SQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience with database security, encryption, and compliance protocols.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Knowledge of cloud database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or GCP).
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation.
