In this position, you will be assigned to our client located in Melbourne. They are primarily focused on meeting the needs of businesses and the individuals within them through a collaborative approach to financial services. The role
The Data Scientist must have a strong focus on Python to join our dynamic data team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive business decisions. This position requires a deep understanding of data engineering principles, proficiency in Python, and experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure, as an added advantage.
Your Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and ETL processes using Python.
Design and implement scalable and efficient data models and architectures.
Transform complex datasets into usable formats for analysis and reporting.
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data processing activities.
Utilize Azure services to enhance data processing capabilities and efficiency.
Implement best practices for data governance and compliance. Generating information and insights from data sets and identifying trends and patterns.
Preparing reports for executive and project team.
Your Background:
Bachelor's degree in IT / Business related discipline
Proven experience as an Analytics Engineer, Data Engineer, or similar role.
Strong proficiency in Python for data transformation and manipulation.
Solid understanding of SQL and relational database concepts.
Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure (Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Database, etc.).
Familiarity with data warehousing solutions and big data technologies.
Experience with visualization tools such as Power BI or similar.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Bonus Skills
Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
Experience with additional SQL-based technologies.
Certifications in Azure.
