Asurion is looking for an automation engineer with data analyst experience to join the Data Governance team to help us continue to grow and build a top-notch program.
Our team is responsible for maturing Asurion's data governance program globally. We achieve this through continually innovating and improving our technological solutions and partnering with stakeholders across geographies and functions. Our team is focused on providing the best experience for our users to make the right decisions regarding our data.
Day to Day tasks:
Be part of a team building a practical, scalable data governance program that works for a fast-growing, innovative company.
Implement effective ways to gather and digest the information about Asurion's data.
Develop automation scripts with a goal to build robust solutions using third party APIs.
Administer and enhance technologies and tools that support our mission.
Engage different stakeholders within the Technology and Product teams to understand data flows and business processes with a data security mindset.
Articulate and convert technical thoughts to a non-technical audience.
Use knowledge of data modelling, data integration and ETL to develop technical processes.
Support data lifecycle, data access management and stewardship processes.
Support Security teams in driving effective responses to information security events.
Continuously develop and improve processes, tools and procedures, and maintain clear documentation.
Embrace learning new tools and methods to achieve goals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Technology or related field.
3+ years experience with SQL, Python, Node.js, Java, or similar.
3+ years experience with data analytics concepts like metadata, data profiling, ETL, data warehousing, access management, data security controls and data privacy.
Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships across teams, preferably in a global enterprise environment.
The perseverance to identify and drive hard problems to resolution with limited supervision.
Strong sense of ownership over your work, with proven strategies to QC work before submission.
The ability and the desire to learn new technologies quickly.
High integrity and ethical standards are non-negotiable.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Organized and have excellent time management skills.
Energized by taking on big challenges.
Preferred:
Experience administering Data Catalogs (Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Alation, etc.)
Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Experience with REST APIs.
Experience working with PowerBI or similar reporting tools.
Past experience working in a global enterprise.
Other position considerations:
Ability to handle proprietary and sensitive information in a confidential manner.
While the schedule is generally a Monday through Friday daily schedule, this position requires some weekend and evening assignments as well as availability during off-hours for participation in scheduled and unscheduled activities.
