The Data Engineer role within the Central Operations department is responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining data solutions across the Courts and Justice (C&J) division. Primary responsibilities will include querying databases, maintaining data transformation pipelines through ETL tools and systems into data warehouses, provide and support data visualizations, interactive dashboards, ad hoc reporting, and data modeling across business units and services teams.
Responsibilities:
Primarily responsible for administration, maintenance, support, testing, training, and implementation of reports and ETL pipelines using various tools and technologies.
Serve as primary support for existing databases, automated jobs, and reports. This may include monitoring notifications, performing root cause analysis for unexpected behavior, communicating findings, and resolving underlying issues with jobs and reports.
Will also be responsible for helping design, develop, deploy, support, and maintain processes for data warehousing , using a variety of ETL tools .
Design, implement, and monitor metrics around various initiatives that track efficiencies and performance to identify opportunities for improvement. This includes, but is not limited to, business metrics, process efficiency metrics, employee feedback, and quality control measures.
Assure integrity and accuracy of data and reports and processes via thorough testing and validation.
Create documentation that clearly communicates the purpose, definitions, and structure of reports and processes.
Work closely with departmental and divisional operational leaders to understand the reporting and analytical needs of the business.
Consult with teams on report and data usage and provide thought-leadership on usage of the reports and processes across the business.
Participate in recurring meetings with working groups and management teams to discuss operational improvements.
Work independently to manage workload and respond to changing deadlines and priorities.
Design, develop and implement special projects, based on business needs.
Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or math, or comparable work experience.
Strong understanding of T-SQL and data modeling principles.
Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Integration Services, Power BI, and Excel.
Ability to write C# or equivalent code is a plus.
Experience with SQL Agent, PowerShell scripts preferred.

Ability to visualize concepts and data using flowcharts or other relevant concepts to communicate business processes is a plus.
Ability to interpret complex data using compelling visual representations, such as graphs and dashboards.
Strong organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task, work as part of a team, and train divisional employees on best practices, policies, and tools.
Must be self-motivated, self-driven, and task oriented with a focus on getting results quickly and on time.
Ability to work in partnership with colleagues within the team, department, as well as divisional stakeholders in an efficient manner.
