BASIC FUNCTIONS: This position performs moderate research, design, and data engineering assignments within a specific engineering functional area or product line.
JOB SUMMARY
Own the development and delivery of a modern data pipeline that delivers product learning data to the analytics platform.
Incorporate multiple data sources from multiple data storage technologies (SQL, NOSQL)
Work closely with our business partners to enable insights and improve learning outcomes.
Leverage Health Markets platform components to deliver visualizations in Tableau and data to internal stakeholders and customers.
Drive the development backlog, working closely with our delivery managers to define work, measure progress and deliver high quality software solutions in an agile environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree (Engineering/Computer Science preferred but not required) or equivalent experience required.
4 to 5 years of Data Engineering and Analytics experience.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
3 years of experience in Data Pipeline Development using Python.
1 year of experience with Snowflake, including various integration approaches.
5 years of Advanced SQL experience.
3 to 4 years of strong data analysis experience.
Understanding of fundamentals of warehousing concepts.
Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure.
Tableau Experience (nice to have)
Ability and desire to learn new processes and technologies.
Good problem solving skills.
Attention to detail.
Good oral and written communications skills.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Serve as the initial point of escalation for data Analytics issues within specific area of responsibility.
Interface with other technical personnel or team members to document, interpret, and finalize requirements.
Write and review portions of specifications for the development of data components of moderate complexity.
Serve as focal point for requirements drafting, defining and/or gathering as related to projects within or affecting specific area of responsibility.
Specialized business support through in-depth data analysis and research.
Independently design queries to assess data for research purposes.
Successfully implement and execute data management and analysis processes and procedures which support group expectations
Build Executive Dashboard or Business dashboards using Tableau and support all reporting analysis and development work on day-to-day basis.
Resolve data issues as necessary within specific functional area or data type.
Work closely with other technology and business teams to understand moderately complex business needs and translate into team functions.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of best practices.
Identify areas for improvement and, with leadership, peers, or others, implement initiatives improving overall capability and efficiency.
Produce code that is efficient, repeatable, without defects, and adherent to best practices such as naming conventions, encapsulation, etc.
Oversee complex data engineering bug fixes and issues, researching and identifying root causes as appropriate.
Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
Identify opportunities to apply existing automation or other tools to meet testing needs.
Plan testing for delivery of products and enhancements and to assure products meet product requirements and quality standards, partnering with Product Management, Engineering, and Operations teams.
Maintain flexibility to react quickly to changes in priorities or circumstances to meet the needs of the business.
Report issues and results, researching and identifying root causes as appropriate, documenting accordingly.
