Data Architect

Summary:

Data Architects take the lead in structuring and implementing systems for data gathering, storage, transformation, and usage, maximizing data's strategic value. They serve as the technical leaders on data delivery teams, focusing on crafting data models that promote reuse, interoperability, security, and accessibility. Their work ensures efficient data ingestion and transformation pipelines, making data available through a high-performance, cost-effective layer suited for citizen developers, data scientists, AI, and integration with applications. They build trust by using data quality frameworks and tools. The Data Architect at Chevron primarily operates within the Azure Data Analytics Platform but may work beyond it as well. They are tasked with optimizing data delivery costs, adhering to enterprise standards, and helping to evolve these standards as technology and best practices progress.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in any related field
• At least 3 years of experience as a Data Architect.
• Strong expertise in data modeling, warehousing, and integration techniques.
• Proficiency in managing any of these databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with big data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and data lake solutions (e.g., Azure Data Lake, AWS Lake Formation) is a PLUS
• Familiarity with any major cloud platforms
• Solid understanding of data governance and security best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
