Responsibilities:
Data Architecture and Strategy
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data architectures that support business intelligence, data warehousing, and analytics solutions
- Define data standards, governance, and integration frameworks to ensure consistency and quality across the organization
- Oversee the selection and implementation of data management tools and technologies (e.g., cloud solutions, ETL tools, data lakes, data warehouses)
- Evaluate emerging data architecture trends and solutions to continuously improve the data architecture framework
Business Development and Client Engagement
- Collaborate with sales and client teams to identify client needs and translate business requirements into data solutions
- Participate in proposal development, preparing technical content to support business development activities
- Lead or contribute to client presentations, showcasing the data architecture capabilities and solutions
- Identify upsell or cross-sell opportunities during client interactions to drive additional business value
Technical Leadership and Project Management
- Lead data architecture design and implementation projects, providing technical direction and guidance to project teams
- Ensure that projects align with client goals and follow best practices in data architecture and security
- Act as a liaison between IT and business teams, ensuring that data solutions meet functional, operational, and analytical requirements
- Mentor and guide junior data architects and data engineers, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing
Data Governance and Compliance
- Establish data governance processes, including data quality, security, and compliance policies
- Collaborate with the compliance team to ensure that data architectures comply with relevant regulations
- Implement data privacy controls and support audits to verify adherence to governance policies and standards
Qualifications:
Data Architect skills:
- Strong understanding of different database systems, including SQL (relational) databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL (non-relational) databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.
- Expertise in building and managing data warehouses, including knowledge of data warehouse architectures (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema).
- Familiarity with tools and methods to design robust ETL pipelines that move data from source systems to data warehouses.
- Proficiency in cloud computing platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) for data storage, data pipelines, and analytics.
- Strong proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL) for querying and managing relational databases.
- Proficiency in securing data architectures with encryption, role-based access control (RBAC), and other security practices.
- Knowledge of business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) and their integration with data warehouses.
- Knowledge of integrating and managing master data across an organization to maintain consistency and accuracy.
- Ability to optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, partitioning, and load balancing.
