Job Description
Your role on individual projects will include elements such as data validation, data extracts, conducting focused analyses, developing summary information for client presentations, developing quarterly and annual reports, and other activities. You will work with proprietary financial tools and may also work with data and tools from our clients insurance carriers and/or program vendors. You will also contribute to product development activities for the practice. As part of this role, you will continually learn about North America health and benefits concepts and principles and apply these skills in a global environment. Finally, you will interact with other members of our United States Health and Benefits Consulting practice and can make important contributions to process improvements and new analytical tools.
This position requires an analytical mind who is detail oriented with work product and outputs using Microsoft Excel. The position also requires the ability to accurately execute written and verbal instructions.
- Populate, on a monthly and/or quarterly basis, financial tools and programs by pulling reports from insurance carriers web-sites or other data sources
- Produce print ready reports that show past, present, and future financial impact of health care benefits such as medical, pharmacy and dental offered by large employers in the United States
- Review your own and others work product to quickly identify data errors as a part of the WTW excellence model.
- Perform financial analyses including developing plan cost estimates and employee contributions, modeling plan design alternatives and calculating reserves
- Build strong relationships with both other data analysts and consultants to collaborate effectively on both client projects and internal development activities
- Research and provide updates and escalation for client (internal and external) requests. Work with appropriate team members in gaining resolution
Qualifications
Required Experience
- Financial, analytical, data or project management background preferred
- A background in Human Capital, HR, Compensation and/or Employee Benefits, and/or knowledge of health and welfare programs, is a plus
- 3+ years of working experience
- Prior experience working with US based consulting or health care firm a plus
Required Skills And Knowledge
- Basic finance and or accounting knowledge is a plus, specifically concepts around budgeting and forecasting spend.
- Ability to identify and communicate macro themes in data and process issues
- Strong critical thinking capabilities and the willingness to apply skills proactively
- Ability to quickly transfer learning into practice
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
- Possesses a desire to ask questions in order to deliver a better work product
- Proficient in English-communication skills
- Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with a wide range of positions within the organization
- Team player with ability to work as a group and independently
- Intermediate to advance Excel skills
