Job Summary: The Data Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining an organization's data infrastructure to ensure the accuracy, security, and accessibility of data. This role involves overseeing database management systems, performing regular data backups, ensuring data integrity, and assisting with data migration and integration tasks. The Data Administrator collaborates with IT teams to implement data policies and optimize database performance.
Database Management: Administer and maintain database systems, including installation, configuration, and upgrades.
- Data Integrity: Monitor and ensure the accuracy, consistency, and security of data across systems.
Backup and Recovery:
Implement and manage data backup and recovery procedures to protect against data loss.Performance Tuning:
Optimize database performance through monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting.Security Management: Manage access controls, permissions, and security protocols to safeguard sensitive data.
- Data Migration: Assist with the migration and integration of data from different sources or systems.
Documentation:
Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures.Support:
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for database-related issues.Collaboration: Work closely with other IT professionals and departments to align data management practices with organizational goals.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in database administration or a similar role.
Proficiency with database management systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.- Strong understanding of data backup and recovery techniques.
Knowledge of data security practices and access controls.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other teams.- At least two (2) year work experience as Data Administrator from a reputable company or business establishment, preferably in a Healthcare facility
