The IT Cybersecurity Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the organization's cybersecurity strategy to protect sensitive information and systems from cyber threats. This role involves overseeing the cybersecurity team, ensuring compliance with regulations, and collaborating with other departments to enhance the overall security posture.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy aligned with organizational goals
- Identify and assess cybersecurity risks and vulnerabilities
- Lead and manage the cybersecurity team, providing mentorship and guidance
- Foster a culture of security awareness and continuous improvement
- Establish and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards and procedures
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, and frameworks (e.g. GDPR, NIST, ISO 27001)
- Develop and maintain an incident response plan to address potential security breaches
- Coordinate response efforts during security incidents and conduct post-incident reviews
- Oversee security monitoring, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing
- Implement tools and technologies for threat detection and response
- Conductcybersecurity training programs for staff at all levels
- Promote a security-first mindset within the organization
- Collaborate with IT, legal and compliance teams to integrate security into all business processes
- Serve as the primary point of contact for cybersecurity matters with external partners and regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
- 10 years of experience in cybersecurity or information security roles, with at least 2 years of solid experience in a managerial capacity
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent) are highly preferred
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, threat landscape, and risk management principles
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
