As a Credit Underwriter, you will play a critical role in evaluating creditworthiness and assessing the risk profile of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) applying for loans. You will have the opportunity to learn and apply industry best practices in credit analysis and risk management, working alongside experienced professionals who have revolutionized SME lending in the digital age.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate the creditworthiness of SME loan applicants by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant information
- Assess the risk profiles of applicants, identifying potential risks and mitigating factors
- Conduct comprehensive due diligence on borrowers to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and develop a comprehensive understanding of borrowers businesses and financial positions
- Prepare credit assessments and recommendations for loan approvals or declines, based on sound judgment and adherence to credit policies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of loan applications and credit decisions
- Continuously monitor and review the credit quality of existing borrowers
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of credit underwriting processes and systems
Requirements
- Essential: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial statements and assess creditworthiness
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
- Desire to learn and develop a career in credit underwriting and risk assessment
