The Position

Reporting to the General Manager, Roche Pharmaceuticals Philippines, the Country Medical Director is a senior leadership position but also a key role within the affiliate. The main purpose of this role is to strategically direct and lead the Regulatory & Medical Affairs center of excellence by providing strong functional expertise, ensuring adherence to the highest scientific and ethical standards, and fulfilment of regulatory and compliance requirements for the appropriate use of Roche products. Additionally, this position leads and oversees the and Diagnostics Division of Roche under our One Roche policy.
Key responsibilities include:
Build strong relationships and ensure effective collaboration and communication between Regulatory & Medical Affairs and other functions, other affiliates, and regional/global partners.
Enable and cultivate a culture of excellence, empowerment with accountability and collaboration as a learning organization.
Represent Roche to regulatory and key external stakeholders to establish strategic partnerships that support patient access and enable optimal use of Roche products.
Define and execute the affiliate's long-term vision, manage the budget/resources and strategize optimal mix of evidence generation investment and other medical activities to meet the medical objectives (short and long-term).
Provide strategic guidance and scientific leadership, and align medical and regulatory strategy development across functions, locally and globally.
Develop and lead a fully trained, compliant, highly motivated and effective team with a performance-led culture that strive for excellence and has a strong focus on cross-functional collaboration.
Oversee evidence generation activities that enhance product knowledge, anticipate/support patient access that are in line with global strategy and compliant with policies and regulations.
Ensure that medical and product information are provided in compliance with SOPs, local requirements and that all data used in the provision of medical information are accurate and meet the needs of internal and external customers.
Ensure that processing and reporting of safety information is conducted in compliance with Roche SOPs and local regulatory requirements while ensuring oversight of local clinical activities.
Anticipate clinical/Real World Data needed to accelerate patient access and ensure clinical value evidence and medical contribution are provided to support HTA submissions.
Ensure alignment with other responsibilities downloaded from the Regional or Global Job Description Library.
Promote awareness and participation to Security, Safety, Health and Environmental Protection policies and programs at site to create a safe work environment to all employees.
Role model excellence in stakeholder engagements in shaping the clinical landscape and healthcare system where Roche innovation can bring the most benefit to patients, people and society.

Who you are:
An MD (Doctor of Medicine) with over 10 years experience in the medical & clinical affairs areas and minimum 5 years leadership experience in managing medium size teams.
International/global work experience within the pharmaceutical industry is a plus but incumbents from CROs and hospital background are welcome to apply- a certificate in Pharmaceutical Medicine is preferred but a completed Residency Training Program is a must.
Strong disease area knowledge or expertise in oncology, ophthalmology and other key therapeutic areas as well as Good Clinical Practices, Pharmacovigilance and regulatory environment in the Philippines.
Experienced leader who has demonstrated learning agility and advanced leadership skills of being a visionary, architect, catalyst and coach.
Extensive strategy development and execution in the context of a business environment.
Excellent verbal and written English skills and strong organizational & people skills.
Scientific and clinical expertise with excellent business acumen.
Displays integrity in everything you do (i.e. open, honest, ethical and genuine).
