Cost Engineer (Bidding background is a plus)

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Ability to review construction plans and prepare quantities;

Prepare contracts and documents and estimate quantity and cost of materials based on requirements;

• Payment, inventory requirements and material set-up budgets;

Analyze maintenance costs and additional construction requirements;

• Track changes to plans or construction and update the budget as needed;

Can hire, record and negotiate with contractors and subcontractors;

• Act as liaison between management and site managers/engineers and contractors;

Track construction materials and inventory;

• Potential financial or construction risks can be identified;

Make recommendations to management on improvements, strategies and/or estimated costs;

• Process contractor and subcontractor billing and record project progress, materials and reports;

Procurement of maintenance costs and facilities management as required;

• Develop and maintain working relationships with contractors and subcontractors;

Utilize software to calculate, record and track inventory and estimates.

• Competencies & Key Performance Indicator

• Bachelor's degree in construction engineering, management or related field. Those with certificates will be given priority;

3-5 years of general construction estimating experience, financial experience, construction experience or related fields;

• Proficient in computer skills, necessary computer programs and Microsoft Office Suite;

Ability to analyze financial records, contractor bills, and apply data to improve results;

• Have strong ability with numbers, spreadsheets and financial reports;

Experience in preparing and following strict budgeting and estimating and financial/mathematical analysis skills;

• Have in-depth understanding of construction principles and methods, materials, pricing and industry;

Ability to analyze problems and develop better solutions.

• Working Days: Monday to Friday
