Strategic Staffing Solutions customer, is seeking a Cost Accounting Specialist to join their team in Lipa, Philippines.
The company is a global leader in circuit protection, power control, and sensing technologies, serving industries from automotive to electronics. In this role, you will provide critical financial and administrative oversight, focusing on manufacturing cost analysis, variance reporting, and budget alignment to meet the needs of operations and senior management. The ideal candidate will bring strong cost accounting expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in supporting key financial processes that drive operational efficiency and informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides financial and administrative oversight to ensure that accounting and financial reporting system meet the needs of operations and senior management
- Monitor closely the expenses and ensures that expenditures are still in line with the forecast/budget
- Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs (cover all variance analytics)
- Set the product standard cost every year in coordination with operation
- Responsible for new product cost maintenance
- Coordinate and prepare operations quarterly financial forecast, monthly projection, and annual budget
- Prepares and disseminates accurate and timely financial reports to the management such as but not limited to:
-Month end close reports and journal entries
-Material variances report (PPV; MUV/Cycle Count)
-Direct manufacturing cost with break-out of volume vs spend variance by product line
-Labor and overhead costs report
-Conduct physical count/audit inventories and monitor cycle count program
-Plant KPIs from financial related reports
- Work and join with various cross functional team aiming cost reduction
- Ensure cost accounting system is in compliance with US GAAP & SOX controls
- Collaborate with auditing party for regular statutory audit process, when needed.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in accounting/finance function. Relevant experience in costing and/or management reporting is required.
- Strong team working and relationship building skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with all levels in the organization
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong orientation for details.
- Ability to work independently with very minimal supervision
- Experience in using SAP systems is required
- Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
