Fulfilling patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include: checking providers schedule to plan for the day, organizing patient flow, accompanying patients to exam/procedure room, assisting patients as needed with walking, transferring, dressing, collecting and processing specimens and point of care testing, preparing for exam.- Assisting with basic patient care and medical procedures within the Medical Assistant (MA) scope of practice.
Clinical duties include set-up of examination room and instruments in accordance with proper sterilization techniques established by the practice and infection control policies, and instructing patients on surgical / cosmetic procedures, such as Toxin / Filler, laser treatments, skin tag removals, biopsies, excisions, chemical peels, light therapy, liquid nitrogen procedures, and several other procedures that are performed.
- Sterilization of medical instruments and ensuring all exam rooms are appropriately stocked and turned over
* Maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complies with legal regulations.
- Complying with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infections body fluids, chemical disinfectants etc.
