As a Cosmetic Formulator, you will play a crucial role in the research and development of cosmetic products for manufacturing. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, formulating, and testing various cosmetic products, ensuring they meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. Your expertise in chemistry, product development, and industry trends will drive innovation and contribute to the success of the company's cosmetic line.
Develop formulations for a wide range of cosmetic products, including skincare, haircare, color cosmetics, and personal care items.- Utilize your knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, raw materials, and their interactions to create effective and safe formulations.
Conduct research to identify new ingredients, technologies, and trends to incorporate into product formulations.
Ensure that all formulations comply with relevant regulations, safety standards, and company guidelines.
- Conduct stability testing and assess product performance to guarantee efficacy and shelf-life.
Work closely with quality control teams to address any formulation-related issues and ensure consistency in product quality.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and production, to align product development with market needs and business objectives.- Communicate effectively with suppliers and vendors to source high-quality raw materials and establish partnerships for innovation.
- Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of formulation recipes, testing results, and other relevant data.- Prepare reports, presentations, and technical documents to document the formulation process, including specifications, procedures, and findings.
Stay informed about regulatory requirements and industry standards related to cosmetic products.- Ensure that all formulations meet regulatory compliance in terms of ingredients, labeling, and safety.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in cosmetic formulation.- Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and product innovation.
Graduate of BS Chemistry, BS Chemical Engineering, or BS Pharmacy, Chemical Technology- Must be PRC Licensed ( Chemist, Pharmacist, or Chem. Tech)
Proven experience in cosmetic formulation and product development, Laboratory work in Cosmetic Manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of cosmetic chemistry, including knowledge of raw materials, emulsions, surfactants, and preservatives.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements for cosmetics, such as FDA regulations, EU regulations (e.g., REACH, Cosmetics Regulation), and industry standards (e.g., ISO 22716).- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation in cosmetics.
Proficiency in relevant software tools for formulation development, data analysis, and documentation.- Willing to work in Sta. Mesa, Manila
