Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

1.Business Unit Development

  • Develop and submit for approval annual plans and programs of the business unit to align with key performance areas and achieve business and profit objectives. Direct their implementation and monitor progress.
  • Ensure that all operational activities are aligned with agreed plans and programs and reflected in the individual and group KPIs as a basis for monitoring progress of operational and individual performance.
  • Prioritize and drive seamless and successful new business implementation, finance process, business consolidations, technical product implementations for the business unit.
  • Direct the development of the business in non-traditional industries.
  • Direct the development and implementation of online presence of the business.
  • Ensure constant updated product knowledge from partners such as the tourism boards, airlines, hotels, and operators through research, and/or attendance in meetings, conferences, and seminars with these partners.
  • Together with other business units, direct the review, development and implementation of relevant systems, processes, policies, and corresponding infrastructures to strengthen operational efficiency, achieve financial targets, guarantee customer satisfaction, improve staff growth and morale.

2.Revenue Generation and Financial Performance

  • Direct and manage the team regarding client-related activities including business retention, contract negotiation, implementation, business consolidation, upselling of products and services, financials (client budgets, billing, collection), business planning and reviews.
  • Work with other business unit leaderships to create, develop, price, and facilitate new and repeat business proposals, including, but not limited to destination, air, hotel, activity, and event overviews.
  • Work to increase program profitability over original priced program received at pre-sale turnover.
  • Ensure the attainment of targets for gross margin and profitability of the business unit.
  • Regularly review and monitor operational business plans, reviews results and margin versus budgets/targets addressing areas for improvement by using current action plans.

3.Corporate Events Management

  • Work with customers to develop, coordinate, and implement their meetings, incentives, conventions, and events.
  • Assist in development and presentation of sales pitches and proposals, as required.
  • Conduct internal pre-program briefings and post-program debriefings.
  • Source destination, air, hotel, and venue options that meet the goals and objectives of the client for their event.
  • Negotiate hotel, air, and venue contracts.
  • Utilize and leverage when applicable, BCD Meetings and Events preferred suppliers and vendors, hotel agreements to negotiate contracts.
  • Track and report hotel room nights and spend.
  • Manage day-to-day internal events and program budgets.
  • Facilitate the creative direction, timeline, and overall development of the event program, proofread and present for approval.
  • Facilitate the creative direction and fulfillment of program-related participant and host communication materials for events.
  • Facilitate and oversee data management process, integrity, accuracy and reporting. Ensure reconciliation of data is complete and accurate.
  • Manage and delegate workload of the team ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Track and manage air, hotel and vendor attrition, cancellation, and deposit schedules.
  • Reconcile all final billing on-site prior to final billing being sent to Accounting and Finance.
  • Ensure the timely payment of all supplier/vendor bills and oversee the invoice payment of deposits to ensure payments are received on time.

4. Reportorial Recording

  • Prepare and submit before or on appointed dates periodic status reports to clients and the regional office.
  • Prepare and submit before or on appointed dates report to Management the status of the department's operation.

5.Client Relations

  • Develop strategic relationships with client decision makers and influencers based on the delivery of service excellence, tangible value propositions and business growth.
  • Determine and understand client needs to ensure continued business relevance, high satisfaction levels, and smooth resolution of operational issues.
  • Maximize client satisfaction by ensuring efficient handling of all requests, issues or disputes

6.People Management

  • Select, orient, and train staff appropriately.
  • Define work expectations and set team goals and directions,
  • Delegate responsibilities according to knowledge and abilities, ensure quality and efficiency of work output.
  • Manage staff issues and enforce timely corrective or disciplinary actions within the limits of authority when necessary.
  • Evaluate staff and team performances, give timely feedback, conduct formal performance appraisals.
  • Build team spirit, ensure positive morale to increase employee retention.
  • Initiate career enhancement programs for staff, ensure succession training.
