I.Job Overview:A Cook, or Line Cook, is responsible for preparing ingredients at an establishment that serves food, processing customer orders, producing meals, and cleaning their workspace throughout the day to follow health and safety guidelines. The Cook or Line Cook reports to the supervisor.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh.
- Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients
- Setting up cook stations and stocking them with the necessary prep supplies
- Preparing food on the line, as needed, by cutting, mixing, chopping, and making sauces
- Cooking items on the line by grilling, frying, chopping, sauting, and broiling to quality guidelines and standardized recipes.
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards (like creating and following a restaurant cleaning checklist) that comply with state and local food safety and sanitation regulations
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment and dishes
- Handling and storing food safely and properly.
- Adheres to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures; maintains temperature and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) logs as required; and maintains appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items.
- Takes inventory counts before and after shifts, completes food inventory or storage sheets in coordination with the Supervisor
- Ability to work on weekends, stand for extended periods;
- Stores leftovers according to established standards.
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, food storage, and work areas.
- Completes cleaning according to daily and weekly schedules and dishwashing/pot washing as needed.
- Assists with orienting new employees to their work area.
- Listens to customer complaints and suggestions and resolves complaints.
- Implements suggestions within parameter of position and refers more complex concerns to the supervisor.
- Participates in and/or contributes to programs, committees, or projects designed to improve quality of service and employee productivity.
- III. Qualifications / Skills
- Resides within 5 km radius from the work location.
- High school / Vocational diploma.
- Anti-COVID-19 Vaccination Card.
- 1 year experience as a restaurant cook
- Ability to follow all food, safety guidelines and sanitation procedures.
- Possess good communication skills.
- Ability to adhere strictly to directives and instructions from superiors.
- Must have integrity and honesty.
- Availability to work evening and weekend shifts.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent physical condition and stamina.
- Ability to be flexible or to work in a team.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From Php14,820.00 per month
