As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, you will establish and improve our budgeting, financial control and reporting processes. The controller will also produce comprehensive financial analysis for senior managers to help improve operational efficiency and scaling-up of our operations.
Financial Reporting
- Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior managers by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points
- Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape
- Support financial reporting to shareholders, potential investors, grant application processes, and tax authorities
- Help develop and support short- and long-term operational strategies
Financial Controls
- Develop and maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures
- Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining updated knowledgeable of proposed legislation
- Develop and enforce internal controls and guidelines to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows
Budgeting
- Establish (in coordination with CEO) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Achieve budgeting goals with proper planning, analysis, and corrective actions
Leadership
- Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. An MBA and CFA/CPA/CA is preferred
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior financial leadership role. Experience in a manufacturing technology startup or high-growth environment is highly desirable
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and using financial software tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel, ERP systems)
- Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
- Capital Project Management: Demonstrated experience in managing the financial aspects of capital projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial oversight
- Strategic Thinker: Strong ability to think strategically and provide financial insights that drive business decisions
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of financial regulations and compliance in the technology sector. Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting
- Process: Experience in managing and streamlining accounting processes including payroll, and a strong understanding of banking processes
- Financial Project: Exemplary history of financial project management and financial data analysis
