Role Overview
Oversee and lead all aspects of complex construction projects, ensuring efficient execution, adherence to safety standards, and successful project delivery.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Ensure strict adherence to safety and regulatory compliance in all construction activities.
- Collaborate with design teams for project feasibility and value optimization.
- Develop Project Execution Plans and effective contracts to guide implementation teams.
- Oversee project teams, including contractors and consultants, driving performance and efficiency.
- Conduct daily progress reviews and decision-making to minimize delays and meet project KPIs.
- Report on construction progress, schedules, costs, and quality, and update work plans and trackers.
- Ensure successful project completion and handover to asset owner/manager.
- Conduct post-project team reviews to learn from experience and improve future projects.
- Oversee scheduling, tracking of deliverables, and cost estimation for in-depth project management.
- Coordinate construction activities and direct workers and subcontractors.
- Manage tools, materials, and equipment inventory and Meet contractual performance conditions.
- Prepare progress and status reports for stakeholders.
- Anticipate, identify, and solve emerging construction issues.
- Handle contract negotiations, permitting, risk management, and in change management processes.
Experience & Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Over 20 years in construction, including at least 5 years in a senior executive role with major construction companies.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure, Luxury, and Mixed-use & offshore Construction, with expertise in Civil and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) aspects.
- At least 10 years of experience in the Gulf Region.
- Demonstrated success in delivering complex, high-value construction projects.
- Extensive understanding of all aspects of construction implementation.
- Proven experience in construction feasibility studies and project planning.
- Demonstrated business experience with significant profit and loss responsibility, coupled with financial management skills.
- Familiarity with basic business processes.
- Openness to travel as required and work in remote locations.
- Ability to analyze and solve complex issues, both logical and interpersonal.
- Competence in negotiating and resolving conflicts.
- Experience leading and managing high-performing teams, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and innovation skills.
- Ability to work well in a team, educate others, and understand complex technical subjects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to interact effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced Construction Management Knowledge: Deep understanding of construction management processes, methods, and software packages.
