Job Summary: As a computer store technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various computer hardware and software systems. You will provide technical support to customers, assisting them with their computer-related issues and inquiries. Additionally, you will help in maintaining inventory and ensuring that the store's computer systems are running smoothly.
Diagnose and Repair: Troubleshoot hardware and software issues for customers, including desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals. Repair or replace defective components as necessary.
- Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and guidance to customers in person, over the phone, or via email. Resolve customer inquiries related to software installation, operating systems, and peripheral devices.
Customer Service:
Ensure excellent customer service by addressing customer concerns promptly and professionally. Communicate technical information in a clear and understandable manner.Inventory Management:
Assist in managing inventory levels by monitoring stock, placing orders for new supplies, and updating inventory records accurately.System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as installing updates, cleaning hardware components, and optimizing system performance.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks on repaired systems to ensure they meet specifications and perform adequately before returning them to customers.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and customer interactions. Prepare reports as needed for management review.
- Required Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience as a computer technician or similar role.- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing hardware and software issues.
Strong knowledge of computer systems, components, and peripherals.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Customer-oriented attitude with good communication abilities.- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional) may be advantageous.
