  • To identify, monitor and control compliance risk and set-up procedures to ensure compliance therewith
  • To establish a clear and open communication process within the Bank to clarify and/or address BSP regulations, policies, circulars, memoranda and other applicable banking laws
  • To develop and maintain a constructive working relationship with regulatory agencies, specially with the BSP Supervision and Examination Sector (SES) to keep the Bank abreast with the latest regulations, policies and other regulatory issuances
  • To clarify and/or consult with SES or other BP sectors regarding specific provisions of laws and regulations and to discuss compliance findings
  • To resolve any questions on the proper application and interpretation of applicable laws and regulations or to refer the questions to the proper authorities for further clarification
  • To elevate and discuss if necessary with the COO, Center Heads in charge and concerned BCO's and/or DCO's together with the Operations Controller and/or Financial Controller all compliance findings, exceptions or violations cited particularly by BSP during their regular, special or general examination of the Bank's Head Office, branches or affiliates in order to agree on the corrective actions to be taken by management
  • To attend whenever necessary in the regular meeting of the Board of Directors in order to present Bank Management final replies to BSP Report of Examination, specially the final replies on the general examination of the Bank's Head Office
  • To discuss with all concerned Business Compliance Officers and Division Compliance Officers new banking laws, rules and regulations or any amendments issued thereto by the regulatory bodies specially by BSP in order to ascertain its impact on the activities of the Bank and its subsidiaries

Qualifications

  • Comprehensive understanding of Branch/Head Office operations in terms of application of policies/procedures and records handling/documentation
  • Competent in risk assessment and in conducting fact-finding activities
  • Well-developed analytical and report writing skills
  • Proficient in conducting Management/Operations reviews
