Job Summary
- Conducts testing and monitoring procedures to determine and assess overall compliance of the Digital Enterprise and Innovations Group with the relevant rules and regulations governing its operations to mitigate and control compliance risks.
How will you contribute
- Provides inputs and assistance to the Department Head, SQCX Head and Groups Deputy Compliance Officer (DCO)s in the development of the work plan for periodic testing and monitoring of regulatory compliance of the different DEIG Units including processes and products/services offered.
- Performs periodic testing of the processes and activities in the Bank to determine compliance by the business units with the relevant regulatory requirements affecting their operations.
- Conducts independent validation of the self-assessment testing performed by the DCOs to establish validity of certifications submitted to the Compliance Office based on the annual work plan of the Division.
- Checks and validates status of previous compliance observations, BSP exceptions and regulatory findings noted by Internal Audit to ensure that commitments to the issues/findings noted by the Compliance Office, BSP, Internal Audit and DCOs are resolved within the timeline provided by the Management. Escalates unresolved issues and/or long outstanding items, in accordance with the approved Escalation Process in the Compliance Manual for proper disposition.
- Performs additional verification of selected processes and/or transactions as may be deemed necessary by the Department Head and DCO, especially if there are new regulatory issuances that requires immediate validation or testing to ensure compliance.
- Conducts root cause analysis of issues noted during compliance reviews to be able to render correct recommendation to the business units or Management and prevent recurrence of the issue/finding in succeeding compliance reviews/regulatory examinations.
- Conducts initial discussion on the results of compliance testing made with the concerned officers of the business unit for appropriate action and/or correction. Solicits opinion / views of the business units on how to better improve the monitoring process of Compliance Office and how best compliance issues/observations can be addressed. Raises valid concerns to Management and/or Board level committee to resolve issues.
- Performs other related tasks/functions as may be assigned from time to time by the Department Head and DCO.
What will make you successful
- Graduate of Accounting, preferably CPA or CIA.
- Should have sufficient knowledge on bank's operations, basic accounting, BSP circulars/regulations/reports, SEC/PDIC regulations/law, other laws relevant to the bank.
- With at least 5 years of experience in compliance / audit preferably in banking industry.
