The Compensation and Benefits Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the compensation and benefits programs within an organization. This role ensures that the compensation and benefits plans are competitive, compliant with legal requirements, and aligned with the organization's strategic goals. The manager will analyze compensation data, develop salary structures, manage benefits programs, and ensure that all compensation and benefits practices are fair and equitable.
Compensation Management:- Design, implement, and manage the organization's compensation programs including salary structures, incentive plans, and other forms of compensation.
Conduct regular benchmarking and market analysis to ensure competitive compensation packages.- Develop and maintain job descriptions and job classifications.
Evaluate and recommend adjustments to salary structures as needed.
Manage the organization's benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, and other employee benefits.- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to benefits.
Evaluate and select benefits vendors and negotiate contracts.
- Coordinate open enrollment processes and communicate benefits information to employees.
Policy Development and Compliance:
- Develop and update compensation and benefits policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations.
- Provide guidance to management and employees on compensation and benefits-related issues.
Employee Communication and Support:
- Communicate compensation and benefits programs to employees through various channels.
Provide support and answer questions from employees regarding compensation and benefits.
- Conduct training sessions for HR staff and managers on compensation and benefits policies.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Conduct regular audits and prepare reports on compensation and benefits data.
Analyze compensation data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvements.
- Prepare and present reports to senior management on compensation and benefits metrics.
Performance Management:
- Support the performance management process by ensuring alignment between performance outcomes and compensation.
Provide guidance on pay-for-performance programs.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Professional certification such as Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in compensation and benefits management.- Strong knowledge of compensation and benefits practices, laws, and regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS and compensation management software.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
This position typically works in an office environment.- Occasional travel may be required for industry conferences, vendor meetings, or training sessions.
Ability to sit for extended periods and use a computer.
