Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Senior Developer or similar role, with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in LifeAsia development and COBOL programming.
- Strong proficiency in LifeAsia system
- Strong proficiency Cobol and AS400
- Proficient in creating business objects in AS400
- Extensive experience in COBOL programming language, including design, development, and maintenance of complex applications.
- Solid understanding of insurance industry processes and workflows, particularly related to policy administration and claims processing.
- Experience with system integration, batch processing, and data migration within LifeAsia environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proactive mindset with a strong commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement.
- Relevant certifications in LifeAsia, COBOL, or related technologies are a plus.
Job Description
- Develop, maintain, and enhance LifeAsia insurance system applications using COBOL programming language.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Design, code, test, debug, and implement COBOL programs and modules within the LifeAsia environment.
- Conduct performance tuning and optimization of COBOL programs to ensure efficient processing and resource utilization.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for LifeAsia system issues, including investigating and resolving production incidents.
- Work closely with database administrators to ensure seamless integration with DB400 databases and optimize database performance.
- Perform system analysis and impact assessment for proposed changes and enhancements to the LifeAsia system.
- Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing sessions, and mentorship of junior developers to promote best practices and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quality assurance, project management, and business stakeholders, to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to LifeAsia and COBOL development.
Non-Exemption/Must Have
