Job Qualifications:
Generic JQ (still awaiting JQ from client):
- 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with a focus on cloud platform foundation and comparison across multiple cloud providers.
- Strong expertise in evaluating, designing, deploying, and managing cloud platform solutions.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager, Google Cloud Deployment Manager, or Ansible.
- Experience with cloud networking, security, storage, and identity and access management.
- Hands-on experience with cloud monitoring and management tools such as AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Google Cloud Monitoring, or Prometheus.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Ruby.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Relevant cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Job Description:
- Evaluate cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and others to understand their capabilities, limitations, and suitability for different use cases.
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud platform solutions using best practices and architectural patterns for reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Develop and maintain cloud platform architecture diagrams, design documents, and reference architectures.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager, Google Cloud Deployment Manager, or Ansible.
- Implement and manage cloud networking, including virtual networks, subnets, route tables, security groups, load balancers, and VPN connections.
- Configure and optimize cloud storage solutions, including object storage, block storage, and file storage services.
- Implement security best practices and compliance standards in cloud environments, including identity and access management, encryption, and network security controls.
- Monitor and optimize cloud platform performance, availability, and cost, utilizing cloud monitoring and management tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud platform infrastructure, networking, security, and performance.
- Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in cloud computing, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
