Job Summary:
Are you detail-oriented, highly organized, and passionate about ensuring a smooth closing process for clients As a Closing Specialist, you'll be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating the final components of loan closings, working directly with lenders, borrowers, and other key stakeholders to ensure everything is accurate and completed on time. You will play a critical role in managing closing packages, balancing CDs, clearing title exceptions, and providing exceptional communication throughout the entire process. This position's hours are 11am-8pm or 12pm-9pm EST, Monday through Friday, with the opportunity for remote work.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Review commitments to ensure all title exceptions have been cleared.
- Order conveyance deeds and pertinent documents from outside vendors.
- Schedule closings with lenders and borrowers as needed.
- Review completed closing package for accuracy and completeness and return original packages to lenders.
- Review and/or balance CD and prepare file for funding.
- Communicate with customers and borrowers on title and escrow issues affecting loan closings throughout the entire process.
- Review payoff demands, calculate per diem and other charges and assist with ordering updates as needed.
- Calculate and do a final review of all recording fees and government charges.
- Maintain organized, completed escrow files.
- Manage closing calendar.
- Elevate problem files to supervisor or manager.
- Complies with Company policies, procedures, regulatory requirements and completes mandatory company compliance training by prescribed deadlines.
- Ability to work overtime as requested by management.
- Dependable, reliable and punctual attendance is required, which may include in-office attendance or attendance at company, industry or other events that occur outside regular business hours.
- Ability to accept supervision and direction, as well as constructive feedback.
- Ability to collaborate and interact effectively and professionally with all levels of management, employees and customers by email, phone, video conferences and in person.
- Demonstrates courtesy, flexibility, professionalism and is proactive and responsive to supervisor/manager, co-workers and customer needs and expectations.
- Other duties that may be assigned.
Knowledge And Skills Required
- Basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and outlook.
- Ability to work in fast paced environment while successfully performing under extreme time constraints and meets prescribed deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills, with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects.
- Ability to act independently with sound judgment and take initiative.
- Written and verbal communications are clear, grammatically correct and business appropriate.
- Actively listens and is mindful of the role body language, gestures and other nonverbal actions can play in communication.

Physical/Mental Demands
- The ability to work with confidential information.
- The ability to perform under pressure and be flexible with disruptions throughout the workday is required.
- Repetitive and continual keyboard activity and interaction with display monitors is required.
The estimated pay range stated represents the typical pay range for this position or similarly employed employees or employees performing substantially similar work. Factors which may be used to determine the actual pay rate may include, but are not limited to, education, training or experience; seniority; merit and work performance; quantity or quality of production; regional differences in compensation; differences in local minimum wages, or ability and effort.
Pay Range for the position is between $18-21 hourly.
Old Republic complies with all federal, state and local laws including minimum wage requirements. In the event a minimum hourly rate stated is lower than the minimum wage required by law, Old Republic will always pay an amount equal to or greater than the minimum wage required by law.
