Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed designs for civil infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, drainage systems, and water supply networks.

  • Create drawings, plans, and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other design tools.

  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine project requirements and constraints.

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure designs are integrated into overall project plans.

  • Prepare and review project proposals, plans, and budgets.

  • Oversee and inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.

  • Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations and building codes.

  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to mitigate potential hazards.

  • Stay updated with the latest industry standards, technologies, and best practices.

  • Perform technical calculations and analysis to ensure the integrity and performance of civil works designs.

  • Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation to support design decisions and project planning.

  • Use simulation and modeling software to predict the performance of infrastructure under various conditions.

  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand project requirements and provide progress updates.

  • Present design concepts and project plans to clients and stakeholders.

  • Address client concerns and incorporate feedback into design revisions.

  • Incorporate sustainable design principles into civil works projects to minimize environmental impact.

  • Develop solutions that optimize resource use and enhance the durability and efficiency of infrastructure.

  • Evaluate the environmental and social impact of proposed designs and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is an advantage.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.

  • Proven experience as a Civil Works Designer, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.

  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and others.

  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, materials, and construction methods.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

    Schedule:

    8 hour shift
