Job Summary :- Responsible for delivering category targets by purchasing the relevant merchandise at the right price, time, quantity, and on trend styles according to open-to-buy budget while maintaining the right inventory months to carry and product line range, arranging and ensuring the best terms with suppliers for the benefit of the company and its customers.
- Merchandise Planning and Management
Computes and recommends sales plan per class aggregating to department level according to historical trend, socio economic conditions and emerging market needs- Creates line range to support class sales target and ensures that relevant basic and fashion merchandise are in place. Target price points, minimum order quantity, vendor pre-pack and number of styles are calculated with the right and capable suppliers identified to deliver orders at the right price, style and quality, ensuring 100% utilization of Open to Buy budget
Creates calendar of promotional items
- Creates buying guide and look book in preparation for local and foreign buying, where target competitive prices, quantities and on trend styles are established according to needs of customers backed by historical performance and product sale ability
Monitors weekly sales performance and sales growth of categories versus target and previous years performance, by product hierarchy and location to check gaps and product opportunities
Responsible for timely issuance of pre-distributed and automatic replenishment purchase orders to fulfill open to buy budget every month- Tabulates monthly markdown both permanent and promotional discounts to push out slow moving sku's and minimize aging inventory upon approval of discount scheme by Management
Monitors 21 day sell thru parity per purchase order to address lost sales opportunity and manage slow moving buys and submitting list of fast and slowmoving items to correct inventory turnover and address stock outs
- Monitors and manages actual inventory against planned inventory per product hierarchy to ensure
Monitors sales versus deliveries per product hierarchy and location on a weekly basis to ensure sales target is supported and growth is achieved from previous year's performance.- Recommends sales plan adjustment to support sales opportunity or demand slack of categories handled and re-allocate budget accordingly to where it's needed
Responsible for product allocation of purchase order according to store need
Sources, qualifies and develops suppliers to establish mutually beneficial partnership at the best commercial terms and ensuring steady supply of products at the right quality, time and price
- Monitors serve rate of each vendor to ensure timely delivery of orders needed to support sales plan or the period
Conducts random quality control of products prior to store distribution to ensure product standards are followed.- Ensures timely payments to suppliers are done through coordination with Accounting and supplier requests
Negotiates the best prices and margins based on agreed quality and acceptable volume to maximize profit gains for the company
- Store Visit and Market Check
Conducts store visits and market check to observe market behavior and identify opportunities to strengthen store presence and customer loyalty
Responsible for plotting fixtures, wall profile, display accessories and brand/category signages for buyer's respective areas
- Assists in store set up and display of merchandise prior
Fulfills open to buy budget and replenishment for newly opened store for three months prior system generated open to buy
Provides Merchandise Assistants right prioritization of tasks so that purchase orders, supplier payments and other necessary tasks are done on time
Carries out market research to keep up to date with consumer trends by getting feedback from Store Department Heads on customer profile, competition offering, and customer preference on style, price, quality, to gain deeper understanding of customer needs- Conducts monthly zoom meeting with SDH by region to understand consumer behavior and gather sell thru analysis of fast and slow-moving merchandise, gathers top 5 product list per class
Provides styling guide and display direction every month in coordination with Visual Department to ensure proper execution and sell thru of new arrivals
- Motivates SDH to deliver targets with reward for achieving KPI
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook)
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
College Degree (4-year course), required
- Candidate must possess Bachelor's/College Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance/Math, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising and Design
At least 3 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position- Preferably 2-4 Yrs Experienced Employees specializing in Merchandising or equivalent.
