Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Development
- Collaborates with the Owner / CEO to develop the company's financial strategies and long-term growth objectives
- Evaluates and implements the most efficient corporate structure aligned with the company's strategic objectives
- Conducts feasibility study and analysis to assess the financial viability of potential investment opportunities
Human Resource
- Determines the appropriate manning and organization structure for the Finance department
- Supports recruitment and hiring of finance and accounting staff
- Trains and develops finance and accounting staff
Financial Analysis, Budgeting and Forecasting
- Leads in the preparation of the annual and monthly operating budgets, forecasts and forward plans
- Conducts comprehensive review and analysis of monthly financial performance and key operating statistics versus targets and recommends actional plans to improve revenue and profitability
- Develops and monitors hotel annual capital expenditure budget
Accounting Administration and Operations
- Oversees the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports (profit & loss statements, cash flow statements, balance sheets) and other management reports
- Responsible for the preparation of the company's audited financial statements
- Oversees internal, external and regulatory audits
Cash Management
- Oversees cash management, accounts receivable and management of payables
- Monitor the company's cash position and liquidity needs to ensure adequate
funding for operating expenses and capital requirements
- Represents the company to banks and maintains banking relationships
Risk Management and Compliance
- Maintains an adequate internal control system to ensure the reliability of financial information and minimize the occurrence of fraud or errors
- Implements accounting principles and financial policies that are aligned with the Uniform System of Accounts for Lodging Industry and Philippine Financial Reporting Standards
- Ensures compliance with financial laws, regulations, and company policies
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, with a proven track record in a similar role.
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or Finance, as well as advanced business education, such as an MBA.
- Preferably Certified Public Accountant license holder
- Strong experience in banking, treasury management, auditing, and financial accounting
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis, risk management, and forecasting methods
- Exceptional attention to details and accuracy in figures
- Ability to oversee, monitor and manage different accounting functions
- Proficient in the use of financial software and MS Office
- Strong leadership qualities and ability to strategize and solve problems efficiently
