Chief Actuary- Product Development and Management

Job Description

Job Functions:
  • Manages product development projects that involve new products, product revamps and quick wins in line with company's product approval gating process.
  • Collaborates with the various teams in the organization, including Actuarial, Operations, Transformation and Technology, Risk Management, and regional counterparts in the implementation of new and revamp products.
  • Establishes best practices and tools for product development, pricing process, and performance monitoring.
  • Manages the company's product portfolio to help ensure that new business sales and profit margin targets are met, including other relevant indicators such as persistency and customer value.
  • Supports the customer segment teams in the creation of marketing and training materials and sales journey to make sure that all product details are accurate, well understood by the distribution channel and customers, and communication is apt for the target market.
  • Provides analysis on market trend and competitors move on products to assist the product committee on decisions regarding product development strategy
  • Oversees the development of product contracts and other regulatory submissions and liaises with Insurance Commission for regulatory approval of the new products and enhancements.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree holder in Actuarial Science/ Mathematics / Business Studies/Marketing Management/Business Administration/Economics.
  • Minimum requirement: at least Associate Level (Actuarial).
  • More than 10 years related work experience in life insurance product development or pricing and preferably at least 2 years related work experience in a director / head capacity or more than 3 years in a senior manager role.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in marketing management, product management, project management and/or actuarial-related functions from a life insurance company
  • Highly analytical and proficiency in math an advantage

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Analytical and strategic thinking abilities

Bachelors/ Degree, Masters/ Post Graduate
