Financial Accountant (Home Owners Association)
Financial Accountant
- Post business transactions, verify financial data for use in maintaining association accounting records.
- Ensure the accuracy of the association&aposs financial documents for reporting, auditing, and tax purposes.
- Provide periodic reports and other records as needed.
- Reconcile bank statements on a monthly basis.
- Keep track of all payments and expenditures, including payroll, purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.
- Reconciling and compare system generated reports to generated ledgers and financial statements (i.e., Account Receivable; Prepared Du Back Reconciliation and etc.).
- Maintain historical records.
- Preparing analyses of accounts and producing monthly reports.
- Post adjusting journal entries as needed or requested by managers/boards.
- Post debit card receipts and transfer funds to replenish account as needed.
- Set up new or updates to GL accounts.
- Transfer funds between bank accounts as necessary for monthly reserve transfers and other funding purposes
- Enter monthly loan statement automatic payments to loan principal s and interest accounts.
- Work with varies banks to create new or close association accounts, purchase CD/CDAR investments.
- Must reach out to APM CPA or controller when in doubt. Please do not make assumptions, we must be extra careful when preparing financial statements for our HOA communities.
- Other projects as assigned by supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounting for a portfolio of community associations.
- Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial statements, including bank reconciliations, general ledger schedules, and journal entries.
- Lead annual budget preparation and reviews.
- Collaborate with site teams on financial projects, including monitoring cash balances and investments.
- Support auditors with annual audits and tax return preparation.
- Conduct peer reviews of community financials.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Accounting Management team.
CPA - Accountant (1) | Commercial Property Management
- Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full cycle of accounting, including recording transactions, bookkeeping, A/P and A/R management, and preparation of financial statements, reports, and analysis.
- What We&aposre Looking For:
Yardi Voyager Experience: Familiarity with Yardi Voyager 7S and 8 (preferred).
SharePoint: Experience with SharePoint is helpful but not mandatory.
Commercial Real Estate/Property Management: Strong experience in commercial real estate or property management, with a focus on:
- CAM (Common Area Maintenance) Reconciliations
- Tenant Bill Backs
- Preparation of Monthly Owner Financial Reporting (strong preference)
Commercial Lease Types: Knowledge of various commercial lease types, such as NNN (Triple Net), Full Service, and Gross Leases, is helpful.
