Job Description
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Cashier to join our team at Next Health Diagnostics. As a Cashier, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic's financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct audits and coding reviews to ensure all documentation is accurate and precise.
- Preparing bills and invoices, and documenting amounts due for medical procedures and services.
- Assist receptionists with patient coordination, schedule follow-up visits and answer calls/ book appointments as necessary.
- Manage up-to-date clinic income records by sending and receiving bank checks and documenting all relevant transactions.
- Examining patient bills for accuracy and requesting any missing information.
- Handle all payments to clinic suppliers and accurately enter daily payment activities (credit, insurance, cash, check, payments for previous visit) into the software management system.
- Fill out and file insurance forms for payment as requested.
- Receive EFTs for corporate/ insurance payments.
- Transfer income activities to QuickBooks system on a daily basis.
- Assign and sequence all codes for services rendered.
- Review the physician's coding at charge entry to ensure compliance with HMOs guidelines and ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.
- Provide information pertaining to billing, coding, managed care networks, insurance carriers, and reimbursement to physicians, managers and subordinates.
- Maintain an organized, efficient, and professional work environment.
- Adhere to all practice policies related to NHD and HMOs.
- Monitoring and recording late payments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent; additional education or training in accounting or finance is a plus.
- Previous experience as a cashier or in a similar role preferred.
- Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly.
- Familiarity with basic computer applications and cash register systems.
- Trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations with composure.
