GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES- Interprets and upholds Mission and Vision and Policies of the Unit, Nursing Division, Ancillary division and the Hospital.
Takes responsibility for his/her own professional growth by attending seminars, conferences and participating in Continues Education.- Participates in activities and programs of the Continuous Quality Improvement Committee in order to elevate the standard of health care in the unit as well as the hospital.
Participates in the Emergency Response activities of the unit and the hospital.
- Assess patient to identify appropriate nursing interventions.
Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team to plan, implement, coordinate and evaluate patient care in consultation with patients and their families.- Monitor, assess, address, document and report symptoms and changes in patient's conditions.
Operate or monitor medical apparatus or equipment
- CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs some or all of the following duties:
- Prepare machine for days to work.
Conducts quality check on the equipment to assure proper operation and may perform minor repairs and adjustments as required.
- Review patient's case history and assess nature of problem and/to verify requested procedures.
Explain to the patient the procedure and build rapport.- Attach diagnostic devices to patient and guarantee safety.
Performs cardiac procedures and tests, such as cardiac ultrasound imaging, electrocardiograms, exercise tolerance tests, ambulatory monitoring, scanning of tapes and holter arrhythmia scanning.
- Observe and care for patient throughout examination to ensure patient safety and comfort.
Monitor output to identify interference either on the machine or in patient.- Record, store and process final output by using devices connected to the machine.
May administer certain drugs under direct supervision of the physician.
- Prepare examination reports for physicians to aid in the monitoring of diagnosis of cardiac, vascular, abdominal, and other disorders.
May supervise and train students, other cardiology technologists and nurses.
Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Medical Laboratory Science- Must be a Licensed Nurse or Medical Technologist
With previous work experience as Cardiovascular Sonography is an advantage
