Job Purpose
The Business Technology Lead is primarily responsible for the overall planning, study, development, implementation, and maintenance of all application systems that support the business group to ensure that functional, operational, and compliance requirements are met. The Business Technology Lead liaises between IT Team and the business group heads and systems support team to understand their business development and operational requirements. Lastly, the Business Technology Lead provides oversight and assists in the prioritization of technology projects, ensuring that the projects are aligned with the business group's strategies and the policies, standards, and procedures of the company and the IT Team
- Executive Level Stakeholder Management
- Acts as the primary representative of IT Team for the assigned business group.
- Assists the business group's senior management in the planning and execution of technology solutions to support the business group's strategies.
- Coordinates with other management teas and BTLs for strategies and projects affecting other business groups.
- Regularly provides reports on performance of application systems according to predefined Service Level Agreements (SLA).
- Business and IT Alignment
- Collaborating with business stakeholders to understand strategic objectives, challenges, and opportunities and align technology initiatives to support those objectives.
- Staying updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices. Identifying opportunities for process improvement, innovation, and automation to drive operational excellence.
- Technology Needs Assessment:
- Assessing business processes, identifying areas where technology can enhance efficiency, productivity, and customer experience.
- Solution Design and Evaluation
- Recommending and designing technology solutions that align with business requirements, budgets, and long-term goals.
- Evaluating vendor products, conducting cost-benefit analysis, and making recommendations for the selection and implementation of appropriate technologies.
- Portfolio/ Program Management
- Provides oversight for managing applications portfolio and projects for the assigned business group.
- Leads technology projects, including project planning, resource allocation, and coordination with cross-functional teams.
- Ensures project milestones are achieved, risks are identified, and issues are resolved.
- Monitors and provides guidance to the project teams in the execution of technology projects.
- Assists in the review and approval of project management standards and methodologies.
- Assists in the identification and resolution of technology risks and issues affecting the business group's operations.
- Operations Management
- Maintains an in-depth understanding and knowledge of the architecture and processes of the applications portfolio, managed for the business group.
- Undertakes initiatives to ensure stability and efficiency of application systems performance.
- Coordinates with the operations units to ensure efficient performance of application systems.
- Ensures compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and data security standards. Implementing a governance framework that ensures technology solutions are aligned with business objectives and consistently monitored and audited.
- Vendor Management
- Facilitates sourcing of solutions and service providers to address business requirements.
- Negotiates with solution and service providers for the finalization of product and services contracts and agreements that are aligned with the bank's policies and standards.
- Manages the relationship with the solution and services providers.
- Line Management
- Performs key functions for organization and human resources management of direct line reports such as training and development, organizational development, mentoring, and compliance to administrative day-to-day tasks to help accomplish organizational goals and objectives.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a 4-year college degree in Computer Science or other IT-related courses
- Graduate of a 4-year college degree in a business course with significant units or training on related IT disciplines. Experience
- At least 10 years of experience in program management
- At least 5 years of experience in the financial services industry Knowledge
