Job Description:
The newly created Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst position based in Manila is an exciting and challenging role that will be responsible for the successful financial planning, analysis, and optimization of our credit card banking partnerships in the Philippines. By developing comprehensive financial models, forecasts, and strategic recommendations, you will play a crucial role in driving the growth and profitability of our credit card partnerships. With a focus on AI-driven digital onboarding and innovative credit card offerings, you will contribute to customer experience innovation in the credit card market, breaking barriers, shaping the future of financial access and transforming lives.
In summary: Business Planning and Analysis (BP&A) Head is responsible for overseeing the business planning, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic analysis of the consumer lending business. This role ensures that the financial performance of the credit card and loan portfolio, products and channels align with the organization's goals, driving profitability, managing costs, and supporting growth initiatives. The BP&A Head will work closely with finance, operations, marketing, and product teams to develop actionable insights that support strategic decision-making and long-term planning.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning and Financial Forecasting:
- Lead the development of annual business plans, forecasts, and budgets for the consumer lending business.
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and internal performance to provide strategic recommendations.
- Collaborate with product, marketing, and sales teams to align financial plans with business growth initiatives and market conditions.
- Prepare long-term financial models and scenario analysis to evaluate potential outcomes and risks.
- Support ICAAP and ILAAP, corporate budgeting and planning process.
- Financial Reporting and Performance Analysis:
- Track, analyze, and report on key financial metrics such as revenue, expenses, net interest margin, charge-offs, customer acquisition costs, and profitability.
- Provide variance analysis between actual performance and budget/forecasts, identifying key drivers of performance gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Work closely with the accounting and finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to accounting standards.
- Prepare and present business performance reports, forecasts, and analyses related to consumer lending business to senior management and stakeholders.
- Own monthly reconciliation of credit card programs P&L with partner banks, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
- Cost Management and Efficiency:
- Develop and implement cost management strategies to optimize operational efficiency within the consumer lending business.
- Collaborate with operations and IT teams to evaluate cost-saving opportunities and streamline processes.
- Monitor business expenses and unit costs, including marketing, rewards programs, and customer service, to ensure alignment with budget targets.
- Business Insights and Strategic Decision Support:
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to senior leadership for strategic decision-making.
- Create, maintain and report channel, vintage, product profitability models.
- Utilize financial modeling and data analysis to evaluate new product launches, marketing initiatives, pricing strategies, and promotional campaigns.
- Partner with product teams to analyze customer behavior, usage patterns, and lifetime value to support product development and marketing strategies.
- Support the negotiation and structuring of credit card partnership agreements by providing financial insights and recommendations.
- Portfolio and Risk Analysis:
- Analyze the financial performance of the consumer lending portfolio, including credit risk, delinquency rates, and profitability.
- Collaborate with the credit risk team to assess the impact of credit policies on portfolio performance.
- Provide analysis on the cost-benefit of customer retention strategies, rewards programs, and other portfolio-related initiatives.
- Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams:
- Work closely with product, marketing, risk, and operations teams to ensure alignment between financial objectives and business strategies.
- Collaborate with the technology and data analytics teams to ensure access to real-time data for accurate reporting and analysis.

- Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews:
- Lead monthly and quarterly reviews of the credit card business, presenting financial performance and key insights to senior leadership.
- Prepare detailed presentations that summarize financial performance, key trends, and strategic recommendations.
- Competitor and Market Analysis:
- Monitor competitor offerings, pricing strategies, and market trends to provide insights into the competitive landscape.
- Develop benchmarking reports to assess the credit card business's performance relative to competitors.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor a team of financial analysts and business planners.
- Promote continuous learning and skill development within the team, ensuring they are equipped with the latest tools and techniques in financial analysis.
Requirements
Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Professional certifications such as CFA or CPA are an advantage.
Experience:
- At least 8-10 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in a fin-tech or financial services company, specifically in credit cards, consumer lending, or payments
- Strong track record in managing budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for a credit card business or similar portfolio. Familiarity with credit card industry-specific metrics and KPIs, such as charge-offs, interest income, and customer lifetime value.
- Expertise with financial modeling, budgeting and forecasting tools
- Strong proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Tableau, or Power BI .
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
