JOB SUMMARY : The Business Intelligence Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and managing BI solutions and systems. This role involves gathering business requirements, analyzing data, and creating reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Data Analysis & Reporting
- Collect and analyze data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations using BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of data across various reports and systems.
- 2. Requirements Gathering
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
- Develop detailed specifications and documentation for BI solutions.
- 3. Data Integration & Management
- Integrate data from multiple sources, including databases, spreadsheets, and cloud applications.
- Design and maintain data warehouses and data marts to support BI functions.
- 4. Performance Monitoring
- Monitor and optimize the performance of BI solutions and databases.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to data accuracy or BI tools.
- 5. Data Governance & Quality Assurance
- Implement data governance policies to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.
- Conduct data quality assessments and make recommendations for improvements.
- 6. Tool Development & Customization
- Develop custom BI solutions and tools as needed.
- Customize existing BI tools and reports to meet specific business requirements.
- Provide training and support to end-users on BI tools and reports.
- Create user documentation and provide ongoing support to ensure effective use of BI systems.
- Provide strategic recommendations based on data analysis to help guide business decisions.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in BI technologies and practices.
- Academic Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Certified Business Intelligence Professional) are a plus.
- Work Experience: 3-5 years of experience in BI or a related field, with a proven track record of working with BI tools and data analysis.
- Proficiency in BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
- Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with database management systems.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and technologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights clearly.
