Business Controller

Position: Business Controller

Work set up: 2pm to 10pm (Manila time) during non-peak days / 4pm to 12am (Manila time) during peak days, PH holiday, 3x per month onsite work

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related area.

5-7 years of experience in financial reporting, planning, and analysis, including providing commentaries.

Analytical Skills: Very strong analytical and MS Excel modeling capabilities to provide deep insights and resolve finance inquiries independently.

• Experience with manipulating large data sets, as well as ability to quickly learn new systems and tools.
• Providing financial planning, budgeting and forecasting, analysis and reporting of direct costs for our largest business unit focused on scientific journals.
• Validate and interpret actuals, prepare and explain forecast and budget data and have the ability to provide commentaries and insight

Team Player: Ability to assist other Analysts and Business Controllers with day-to-day operational responsibilities and ad-hoc projects.

Communication skills and language: Very strong verbal and written communication skills in English to clearly convey financial information to a range of stakeholders in our multi-national and multi-cultural environment.

Technical skills: MS excel advanced user, Oracle Hyperion products and Smartview preferable.

Responsibilities:

Planning, Budgeting, and Forecasting: Develop forward-looking expectations based on actual performance trends, expected changes in their strategy, and other business inputs; prepare baseline forecast, overlay with expected changes, enter the final projections into their forecasting tools, and provide insights and commentary on variance analysis.

Management Reporting: Run specific queries and reports, reconcile data, and provide comprehensive analysis and support for key stakeholders.

Financial Accounting: Calculate and prepare deferral and accruals journals.

Continuous Improvement: Seek and implement continuous improvements in efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of service for systems under control.

Internal Control: Establish and execute internal control policies, support annual audits, and ensure data integrity and consistency across all financial processes.
