Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled and passionate Bread Baker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of bread-making techniques, a commitment to quality, and the ability to produce a variety of delicious and consistent bread products. As a Bread Baker, you will be responsible for planning/scheduling production, preparing dough, baking bread, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Planning: Understanding demand, create a production schedule, monitor baking process, optimize workflow, track and adjust, adapt to changes.
- Dough Preparation: Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes to prepare dough. Ensure accurate proportions of flour, yeast, water, and other ingredients.
Bread Baking:
Operate ovens and other baking equipment to bake bread to perfection. Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure high-quality results.Recipe Development:
Assist in developing new bread recipes and improving existing ones. Experiment with different ingredients and techniques to create innovative products.Quality Control: Inspect and taste bread to ensure it meets quality standards. Adjust recipes and processes as needed based on taste, texture, and appearance.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory of ingredients and supplies. Order and restock items as necessary to maintain production efficiency.
Sanitation and Cleanliness:
Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.Customer Service:
Provide excellent customer service when interacting with customers, especially in a retail bakery setting. Address any customer questions or concerns about products.Experience:
Proven experience as a bread baker or in a similar role. Familiarity with various bread-making techniques and equipment.Skills:
Strong knowledge of bread recipes, ingredients, and baking processes. Ability to follow recipes accurately and make adjustments as needed.Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy bags of ingredients, and work in a hot environment. Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Education: Culinary or baking certification is a plus but not required. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
