We are seeking a responsible Health and Safety Specialist to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines. Your primary role will be advising on measures to minimize hazards and maintain a safe working environment. Vigilance in identifying violations is crucial.
The ideal candidate is a dedicated individual who strictly adheres to OSH regulations. Your focus will be on preventive measures, requiring attentiveness and proactive thinking. Detailed orientation is essential, especially during emergencies. Your objective is to establish a workplace that meets legal safety standards and cultivates a culture of prioritizing health and safety.
Key Responsibilities/Duties
Facilities Management:
Assist in conducting regular inspections of company facilities to identify and address maintenance and repair needs.
Help establish and manage vendor relationships and contracts for facility maintenance, janitorial services, and other related services.
Coordinate in the organization and optimization of office spaces, furniture, and equipment to maximize space utilization.
Safety And Compliance
Contribute to the development, implementation, and updating of safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Conduct safety training programs and drills for employees to raise awareness and preparedness.
Stay up-to-date with local safety regulations and ensure the company's compliance.
Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions.
Emergency Response And Planning
Collaborate with other functional departments in developing and maintaining emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and crisis communication protocols.
Act as the point of contact for all emergency situations and lead response efforts as necessary.
Ensure that emergency equipment and supplies are maintained and readily available.
Environmental Sustainability
Implement and promote environmentally responsible practices within the organization.
Monitor energy usage, waste management, and other sustainability initiatives.
Collaborate with relevant departments to reduce the company's environmental footprint.
Budget Management
Propose any possible Facilities and Safety budget requirement, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource allocation.
Evaluate and recommend cost-saving initiatives and improvements.
Experience & Qualification
Certifications in safety management (e.g., OSHAC, BOSH SO3) are critical
Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field (Preferred but not required).
With PCO experience (Preferred but not required).
Proven experience in Occupational Health & Safety Management supporting both onsite & virtual, preferably in a corporate environment.
Knowledge of local safety regulations and environmental compliance.
Maintain effective communication with his/her related team.
