Job Summary:The Bookkeeper is responsible for recording and maintaining the business's financial transactions, such as purchases, expenses, sales revenue, invoices, and payments. The role involves working with an accounting software system to ensure the accuracy of the company's financial records.
- Financial Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.
Update and maintain the general ledger.
Reconcile bank statements and manage accounts payable and receivable.
Prepare and send invoices to customers.
Process payments received and followed up on overdue invoices.
Handle payroll processing and ensure timely payment of salaries.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
Provide financial data to the management team for decision-making purposes.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Assist with the preparation for audits and liaise with auditors.
Maintain confidentiality of all financial data.
- Additional Responsibilities:
Handle petty cash and expense reports.
Support the Finance Manager with any other accounting duties as required.
Continuously update skills and knowledge of bookkeeping practices and accounting software.
Bachelor's or associate degree or relevant certification (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper) is a plus.
Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Office, especially Excel.
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
