Title : Barista/Cashier
Reports to : Store Supervisor
The Barista/Cashier is responsible for serving all products with friendly, individualized attention towards each customer. He/she is also responsible for educating customers about our premium beverage and food items. The Barista fulfills any other duties the store manager, assistant manager or shift supervisor assigns and represents the company in a professional manner.
- Duties and Responsibilities
Sells beverage items, as well as coffee grinding and brewing equipment by explaining differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines; demonstrating how brewing equipment operates
Prepares and sells beverages by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques; maintains the highest quality, consistent product standards
Develops an understanding of coffee and the various differences in flavor and blends that different roasting and brewing methods produce
Develops an understanding of alcoholic drinks, including but not limited to beer, cocktails, mixes and spirits, and the flavors of each
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading coffee, retail trade, and food service publications
Generates revenues by attracting new customers and defining new and expanded services and products, as well as upselling other items available in the store
Greets all customers with fast, friendly, personalized service and develops a rapport by determining their food and beverage interests and needs
Ensures that all customers are educated on all products and services
Verbally receives and calls back customer orders in a friendly manner
Reports all customer complaints to manager
Responds proactively to prevent customer service situations
Accurately rings sales orders into cash register and counts back change to customers in a courteous and friendly manner
Facilitates cashiering and reporting of operational fund status; ensures that standard fund/amount is available on timely manner, fund/sales reporting according to policies and procedures. Specifically, maintaining accurate record on books of accounts, like BIR Journal, Senior & PWD details, and all BIR related requirements in general.
Answers telephone in a courteous and friendly manner including, but not limited to, giving store greeting, directions to store location, and receiving and filling customer orders
Restocks shelves when necessary/maintains inventories by replenishing bar and packaging supply; Prepares weekly list of items in low stock for proper delivery; Assists in the distribution of weekly shipments
Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs
Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations. Routinely cleans the bar area, floor, windows and grinders, and takes out trash, etc.
Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar.
Reports potential safety hazards, employee accidents and any operational inconsistencies to the manager
May be assigned other duties and responsibilities depending upon the needs of EMPLOYER
