Job SummaryWe are looking for a skilled Baker to join our team. The Baker will be responsible for preparing, baking, and decorating a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, cakes, and other items. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
Preparation and Baking:- Mix, knead, and shape dough according to recipes and specifications.
Prepare batters, fillings, and icings for various baked goods.- Bake items according to established recipes and guidelines, ensuring proper texture, color, and flavor.
Recipe and Ingredient Management:- Follow recipes precisely and adjust ingredients as necessary based on batch size or customer specifications.
Measure and mix ingredients using a variety of kitchen tools and equipment.- Maintain inventory of baking ingredients and supplies, and assist with ordering and restocking as needed.
Quality Control:- Monitor baking processes and ensure finished products meet quality standards.
Decorate cakes and pastries to meet aesthetic and customer requirements.- Conduct regular checks to ensure the cleanliness and proper functioning of baking equipment and utensils.
Health and Safety Compliance:- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of ingredients and baked goods.
Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe working environment.Customer Service:
Assist customers with special orders or requests and provide recommendations based on their preferences.
- Handle any issues or concerns related to baked goods and ensure customer satisfaction.
Experience:- Previous experience as a Baker or in a similar role preferred.
Experience with various baking techniques and recipes is a plus.Skills:
Strong knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and adapt to changing needs.
Excellent attention to detail and creativity in decorating and presentation.- Good organizational and time-management skills.
Education:- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school or baking certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy bags of ingredients and equipment.
Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a hot environment.
