and JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • OVERALL : Manage, Supervise, organize, and train a 15+ member auto body painting team to meet daily target completion of 200-300 units per month painting operation. Work with management to develop painting operational strategies to attain painting output based on client's targets, and facility/facility/staffing/materials capabilities considering local and global standards.
  • PROCESS: Understand and follow the company and manufacturers equipment, materials, and application process at all times for all auto painting services (Painting, Preparation, Polishing and other auto painting services) for the management and training of the painting team. Understand the high quality spray application and manufacture's process of primers, sealers, basecoats and clearcoats (achieve Spray finish Quality) primarily of Axalta Cromax/Nason or other paint system that will be used by the Painting Operations. Understand and execute the company's operating philosophies and process to efficiently manage a high volume of assembly line painting operations.
  • SUPERVISION: Follow and understand instructions and the tasks required to execute your responsibilities and targets from management. Conduct promoting positive environment to increase solutions, innovation, productivity, team work to attain targets of all areas of the operations. Provide and complete all information and statistics required to manage and monitor performance.
  • TEAM: Promote culture and environment for team work and professionalism to increase productivity and motivation to attain the department and overall targets set by management. Manage together with the in-house or external paint mixer to ensure proper color matching, paint materials and consumption. Overall responsibility to manage, hire, performance grading, train, discipline and remove of the members of the painting team.
  • TRAINING: Prepare with management and manufactures the various training manuals for capability of in-house training, on-line training, etc. Accept additional training and self-improvement research to improve skills and productivity of the painting team.
  • TARGETS: Ensure completed tasks of your painting team based on accomplishment targets and the standard/agreed completion times (Flat Rate Time) and daily output set by management and the industry.
  • QUALITY: Attain the company's and client's quality standards at all times. Understand the Reworks and Back jobs tolerances and remedy options as set by management for your teams. The maximum rework tolerance target is 10% (1 out of 10 units) and Maximum Back Job tolerance target is 1% of total release output both will be rectified according to prevailing company policy. Quality includes proper cleanliness, safety, attire of the work space, persons, units worked on. Quality Control checks and culture shall be in all stages of painting line to minimize cost, time and reworks.
  • MATERIALS /EQUIP: Monitor use, application and responsible for the proper and safe use of materials and equipment of the painting team per company and manufacturers standards. Proper dispensing, application, measuring and standards of all chemicals and consumables required for all types of painting services provided by the company. Manage proper maintenance and cleanliness of the equipment and paint booths. Know how to utilize and maintain spray guns, sanding blocks, dry sander, polisher, required safety gear, etc. in order to complete quality work. Research and improvement knowledge of painting materials and equipment.
  • DAMAGE/LOST: Manage painting team to avoid at all times damage of clients, company property and injury of co-workers, persons resulting from improper or irresponsible.
  • REWORKS OR DEFECTIVES WORKS: The company may require that all the quality of the reworks caused by employee which is defective and did not pass to quality control shall be rectified and completed per company policy.
  • OTHERS:

- Proper coordination with all BP departments heads to ensure efficient flow of repairs and attainment of daily output targets.

- Attend operational meetings and provide inputs to the BP management teams.

-Provide suggestions to improve the BP operations.
  • QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

College graduate (Minimum) or technical school. Grade average 80% or better.

Ten years experience as a lead master painter, trainer, job controller.

Formal training in painting systems.

Overtime work if required.

Can drive car. Driving license optional

Can read and understand training material and presentation, make and read repair plan.
