Position: Associate Test Engineer
Office / Station: Test
General Function:
An Associate Test Engineer uses knowledge in software development and basic testing methodologies to validate and conduct quality assurance activities on the deliverables produced by the Product Delivery Team. S/he creates test cases, sets up and configures his/her test environment, and executes test cases.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow the test plan and execute the test cases assigned to him/her
- Follow standard software testing processes to keep project defect records
- Help execute manual and automated test scripts
- Design and craft own test data needed for testing
- Create test cases, extend test case base in the test plan and setup test environment
- Works with the Scrum Team in all phases of the project to ensure a successful delivery
- Report status of software issues to Lead Test Engineer and verify fixes proactively
- Identify process deficiencies and effectively implement process improvements
- Perform related duties as assigned
Working Relationships
- Directly reports to the Lead Test Engineer
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs Degree preferably in Information Technology / Computer Science / Engineering or other related courses
- Ability to work and adapt to different programming languages
Having any of the following is an advantage:
- Knowledge and/or Working experience in
- Software QA processes and methodologies
- Any software development life cycle or Agile software development methodologies
- Scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, and Batch scripting
- Testing frameworks such as PyTest and Robot Framework
- Operating systems such as Windows, MacOS and Linux
- Virtualization technologies such as Docker, VMWare, VirtualBox and Google Cloud Virtual Machines
- Testing computer systems and/or applications
