The Associate Merchandise Manager assists the Merchandise Manager in all aspects of brand management, retail operations, and product planning and control.
Monitoring and Tracking of Sales
- Prepares and analyzes daily, weekly and monthly sales reports of assigned categories.
- Acts as a liaison between the store and the merchandise team in reporting all front line selling information to the Merchandise Manager.
Distribution, Allocation and Stock Monitoring
- Assists the Merchandise Manager in distributing and allocating the merchandise to the stores. Ensures even distribution of new arrivals among stores and maintains a complete assortment for each store at any given time.
- Responsible for coordinating with the principals regarding defective and incomplete arrivals for proper action plans.
- Responsible for the coding and encoding of all of new arrivals.
- Responsible for daily monitoring of stocks ensuring that all stores are well stocked and all stock requests from stores are attended to. Checks stock levels in the warehouse and recommend if there is a need to re-order for replenishment.
Selection, Procurement, Product Planning
- Assists the Merchandise Manger in all aspects of selection and procurement of merchandise.
- Assists the Merchandise Manager in reviewing and preparing purchase orders based on stock positions and new trends in the market.
- Reviews with the Merchandise Manager the selling of products at both high and low level of detail.
- Actively participates in all sales analysis that is needed to come up with a purchase plan, marketing plan and/or business review.
Business Review
- Assists the Merchandise Manager in preparing reports for Business Review.
Communication
- Assists the Merchandise Manager in all correspondences with the suppliers pertinent to the brand. Ensures that all inquiries are answered on a timely basis.
- Ensures that all necessary correspondence (price adjustments / revisions, new merchandise descriptions, promo memo etc.) with the stores are sent out and received by the Sales Staff on a timely basis.
Store / Warehouse Visits
- Conducts regular store visits with the Merchandise Manager to check on merchandise; to train the sales staff on merchandise information; to conduct meetings to assess store requirements.
- Works closely with store operations regarding customers with merchandise inquiries.
- Conducts regular warehouse visits with the Merchandise Manager to monitor inventory and check on other stock replenishments; to check new arrivals, defective merchandise and other related problems.
- Works closely with Visual Merchandising to ensure aesthetics and quality of display is at its best and follows the standards of the brands.
Construction and Store Planning
- Assists the Merchandise Manager in coordinating with the Store Operations Manager, the Design Consultants and Contractors on all aspects of new store development and/or renovation of existing stores.
