Assistant Vice President - Project Manager (Cybersecurity Focus)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Vice President - Project Manager to lead and drive cybersecurity projects within our organization.

The successful candidate will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring they align with the company's business goals and regulatory requirements.

This role requires a blend of strong project management expertise and deep knowledge of cybersecurity principles.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Management Leadership:

• Manage end-to-end project lifecycle for cybersecurity initiatives, including risk assessments, incident response, vulnerability management, and compliance projects.
• Develop detailed project plans, define scope, allocate resources, and set key milestones to ensure on-time delivery.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, including IT, Security Operations, Compliance, and external vendors.

1. Cybersecurity Strategy Alignment:

• Collaborate with senior leadership to prioritize cybersecurity projects based on business impact, risk, and compliance requirements.
• Ensure projects adhere to industry best practices, frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), and relevant regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

1. Stakeholder Engagement:

• Act as the primary liaison between cybersecurity teams and business units, ensuring effective communication and alignment on project objectives.
• Present project status, risks, and outcomes to executive leadership and other stakeholders.

1. Risk and Compliance Management:

• Identify potential risks in projects and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
• Ensure all cybersecurity projects meet internal governance and external regulatory requirements.

1. Team Leadership and Development:

• Lead project teams comprising cybersecurity professionals and IT staff.
• Mentor and develop team members to enhance project delivery capabilities.

1. Budget and Resource Management:

• Manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.
• Evaluate and engage third-party vendors or consultants as needed.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
• Experience:
• Minimum 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years focused on cybersecurity projects.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale, complex cybersecurity initiatives.
• Certifications (Preferred):
• PMP (Project Management Professional)
• CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
• CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
• Agile or Scrum certifications
• Skills:
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and best practices.
• Exceptional project management skills, including planning, execution, and risk management.
• Proficient in project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, or equivalent.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong understanding on Cybersecurity tools and principle such as XDR, Zero Trust, etc
