I. Essential Duties and Responsibilities1) Preparation will assist with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling and chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and preparing simple sauces or garnishes.
2) Assisting Senior Chefs they work under the supervision of more experienced chefs, helping them with various tasks as needed, such as assembling ingredients, setting up stations, and organizing kitchen equipment.
3) Cleaning and Maintenance - is responsible for keeping their work area clean and organized, as well as assisting with general kitchen cleaning tasks to ensure a sanitary and safe environment.
4) Following Procedures - must follow standardized recipes and procedures set by the head chef or sous chef to maintain consistency and quality in the dishes prepared.
5) Assisting with Inventory will assist in inventory management tasks, such as receiving deliveries, rotating stock, and keeping track of ingredient levels.
6) Learning and Development must be willing to learn and develop their culinary skills. They may receive on-the-job training from senior chefs and gradually take on more responsibility as they gain experience.
1) Basic Culinary Knowledge:
- While formal culinary education is not always required, some knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen procedures is preferred.
2) Trainability:- Must be eager to learn and grow in the culinary field; willingness to take direction from more experienced chefs and adapt to new techniques and recipes is essential.
3) Physical Stamina:- Must be able to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment.
4) Teamwork Skills:- Must be able work effectively as part of a team; can communicate well with other kitchen staff and follow instructions from senior chefs.
5) Attention to Detail:- Must be accurate in following recipes, portioning ingredients, and maintaining cleanliness is important to ensure the quality and consistency of dishes.
6) Others-
